Lil Huskies

The Lil Huskies is our "Learn-to-Play" and in-house hockey program, which has been the starting point for many Huskies hockey players' careers. Join our Director of Early Development, Joe Tomasek, along with other Huskies coaches, for a series of fun drills and games that aim to improve skating, puck control, passing, shooting, and — most importantly — love of the game. This program is for players who can skate but are new to hockey. Our ‘one step at a time’ instruction is designed for players 8 years old and younger but also for players 9 years and older who are interested in starting to play the game.

The program includes two weekly skills sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 40 minutes each. Saturday is game day, and the Lil Huskies will play cross-ice games for 70 minutes to take the skills they learned during the week and build their teamwork in game situations. We will also collaborate with other local hockey clubs to schedule cross-ice games and give the players a taste of what it's like to be a travel hockey player. This program is ideal for players who want to learn the game and to grow and build confidence at their own pace, as well as young hockey players who aren't yet ready to commit to a full season.

what parents say about us

My son was so excited to get all geared up and on the ice like his brother. This was the perfect opportunity and experience for him to try it out while also learning the basics of the game. He couldn't wait to come back for the next session!
