Huskies Hockey Club - Passing the Torch

Passing the Torch

Hello Huskies Families,

Welcome to the preparation for the 2025–2026 season!

First and foremost, thank you for standing by us over the past few months. I know the uncertainty, the rumors, and the moments of silence may have caused concern. But please know that throughout it all, the board and I never stopped working behind the scenes to secure the future of this club—for your players and for the families who care so deeply about it.

Now, we can all take a deep breath and look ahead with excitement as we begin a new chapter with our partners at Canlan. There are some big things coming, along with a few changes—and one of those is a personal update I want to share.

After 14 incredible months, I’ve made the decision to step down as President of the Huskies. This role has taught me more than I could have imagined. It’s kept me busy, challenged me, and gifted me with friendships and memories I’ll always carry with me. I’m beyond proud that this club—our club—will continue beyond the 56 years we celebrated in 2025. The fact that my son has only ever skated with Canlan, YHL, and the Huskies makes this legacy all the more special to me.

I’m also at peace knowing that you’re in great hands moving forward. Jennifer Keefe will be stepping in as President, and Joe Tomasek will take the lead as Hockey Director. Both bring incredible energy and dedication to this next chapter. Supporting them will be board members Mike Hill, David Altholz, and Andy Tomcho—friends of mine who’ve promised to continue the mission I committed to when I took on this role.

I’ve never seen the coaches more excited to get back on the ice. With Joe and Jeremy Zabrinas leading the charge alongside them, I can’t wait to watch our teams thrive this season.

As my time as President comes to a close, I wish you all the best for a successful and fun year ahead. And if you see me around the rink, don’t hesitate to say hi—I’ll be the proud hockey mom in the stands, cheering just like many of you.

Warmly,
Angie Sullivan
