Fundraising

The Huskies Hockey Club is excited to provide opportunities for families to earn rebates off their Fall fees. You can choose to participate in one option or all options, that’s up to you. The more you participate, the more you reduce fees and add to the team funds (and therefore reduce the required discretionary spending account). More opportunities may become available during the season, for both Player and Team fundraising. As options arise, information will be communicated via email and social media.

For questions, please contact the director of our Fundraising Committee, Jen Keefe.

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES

Team-based Fundraising

With the extra costs that come with the Hockey season (tournaments, coach’s rooms, extra games, team party, etc.), team managers will coordinate a team fundraiser with the Huskies fundraising chairperson. These fundraising opportunities are to be used, as a team, to reduce significant team costs. It is encouraged that there is 100% participation from each player on the team as all funds raised benefit the whole team, not just the active participants. All team fundraisers are to be approved by the board.

Bears Squares

Bears Squares is one of the most popular team fundraisers each season. Earn almost $5,000 for the team DSA (discretionary spending account) by selling 100 squares as a team at $100 each. Each square on a 10x10 grid will be owned by the person who purchased the square. Each week throughout the Chicago Bears football season, the grid will be randomly assigned numbers from 0 to 9 on both the vertical and horizontal axis. The Bears score will be represented on one axis while their opponent's score will represent the other. At the end of each quarter of the Bears game the last digit of the score for each team will be used to determine the winner. The first, second, and third quarter payouts are $50, and the final score payout is $150. Over the course of a 17-game season, the payouts will equal $5,100, which leaves $4,900 for each team to use in their DSA.

All players will be required to sell a certain number of squares (based on the number of players on the team) or purchase the squares themselves.

Individual Fundraising

Throughout the season, we will have a different fundraiser each month where families can raise money which can help with their season fees. We will provide more details for each fundraiser as we get closer the beginning of each month.

Sponsorship and Advertising

For each sponsorship brought to the Huskies, a percentage of the sponsorship or advertiser value goes to the player’s dues, and the remainder of the value goes to the club. Learn More
