Huskies Hockey Club - Hockey Programs - Travel Hockey - 2024-2025 Season Information

2024-2025 Season Information

Welcome

Dear Huskies families, players, coaches, and fans,

First, let me introduce myself, my name is Angie Sullivan, and I have been given the honor of being the new President of our youth hockey club! My hockey beginnings began years ago, when my dad would take me to cheer on the Hershey Bears, in Hershey, PA.  (happy to say they are recent back-to-back Calder Cup champs!) When I met my husband, Sean, he was on a men’s league team, and I began to appreciate the game, understand the rules, and feel the passion for the game.  When our son, Carson, turned 3 he put his 1st skates on and didn’t look back! My family has skated at Canlan Ice for over 15 years and if someone had told me on my 1st day as a hockey mom that I’d be writing this letter, I would not have believed them! Over the years with the Huskies, my husband has been an assistant coach, while I helped with fun events within our team.  2 years ago, the board asked me to create a season kick-off party for our families.  Since then, I have worked with my committee to create fun events, fundraising opportunities, and philanthropic days.  As I transition from that role, I want to say I am grateful to all who helped make those events great! I look forward to the new team leading us in more.

Thanks to Tony, our President Emeritus, for paving the way through Covid and after, to set myself and the current board up for success. He navigated his way through multiple challenges to ensure a positive path for the club. As President, my primary goals are to steer the Huskies towards a sustainable future in an ever-changing economy while ensuring the players have the best learning and fun experiences.  Fostering the love of hockey and giving our best to them is very important to me.  The board and I have thoughtful discussions when making decisions and you can be sure we will always make the choices we feel are best for our club to keep moving forward. You may not always understand or agree with our choices, but rest assured we have the club’s best interest at heart!

The 2024/2025 season is our 55th year! I am proud to be a part of an organization that has accomplished so much over the years.  Be sure to look at our new website, under the alumni and history pages.  This season we have a team competing in Central States, our mites competing in the CUHL, and our remaining teams will continue with our long-lasting relationship in NIHL.   We are bringing back the midget program this fall, and I am excited to see the players excel this season! Over the last few months, you may have seen our OG colors of red and black.  We aim to infuse our history throughout the club, our programs, and social media so you will see them often.

As I close out this letter, I want to express my deep pride in being part of this club, being a hockey parent, and most of all excited for what this next season brings!  I pledge to give my best to the club and ultimately to you and your player(s).  Please do not hesitate to say hello when you see me at the rink, I always enjoy meeting our families.

Thank you for being a part of the Huskies Hockey Club – let’s have a great season!

Sincerely,

Angie Sullivan
Club President

Season Payment Options

After tryouts are complete, your player will be assigned to a specific team for the season. You will receive a new registration link to accept your team placement and set up payment for the full season. Starting this year, the Huskies Hockey Club will use a new platform for managing player registrations. LeagueApps offers more flexible payment solutions for the season, including payment plans and ACH payments. A player will not be allowed on the ice for the first practice until one of these payment options has been chosen and at least the first payment has been made.

Credit card transactions will be charged an additional 3.9% +.30. ACH payments will be charged an additional 3.0% + .30.

Pay In Full Online

By choosing this payment option, you will submit the total due for the entire season online through LeagueApps for the team registration/contract signing. If you pay in full online, you will receive a 2% discount on the season fee.

Payment Plan Online

The online payment plan will be divided into 6 payments. You will submit your first installment payment on team registration/contract signing day by choosing this payment option. The remaining balance for the season will be billed ONLINE in 5 additional installments using the SAME PAYMENT METHOD used to pay your registration fee.

Automatic payments will occur on October 1, November 1, December 1, January 1, and February 1.

Pay in Full with check – Offline

You can pay the full amount via check to avoid any online payment transaction fee. The check payment is due before the first team practice. Checks should be made out to “Huskies Hockey Club” and dropped off in the board room (down the hall by rink 1) to the attention of Rachel Baumruck.

Families with multiple skaters will receive a 5% discount on the season fee.

2024-25-Huskies-Tryout-Handbook-1

Tryout Handbook

The tryout process is one of the most challenging and stressful times during the hockey season—especially for parents! Research has shown that kids, in many cases, handle the pressure of tryouts better than parents, making this time of the season a particularly nerve-wracking and potentially upsetting experience for all! This handbook attempts to explain the Huskies Hockey Club tryout process and answer questions, especially for those parents who have not been through this process before.

Uniforms

Mandatory uniform fittings will take place on 7/30, 8/1, 8/6, 8/13, and 8/20 from 6 to 8pm at Canlan in either the board room (down the hall by rink 1) or a party room. All players must attend one of the fitting dates and submit their sizing information through our Google form.

Midgets

Our rejuvenated Midget program will look amazing in these new red and black uniforms. We have combined the old and the new to create a set of uniforms that honor our history while looking toward the future. The players will be proud to put on these jerseys, which are made using the same high-quality production techniques as our sublimated jerseys. However, we will be using an embroidered logo on the chest to stand out from the pack.

All midget players will receive the complete uniform package, which includes:

White jersey
White socks
Black jersey
Black socks
Black pant shell

*** A $200 deposit will be required at the sizing event and will be deducted from your season fee at team registration.

*** We will reevaluate our uniform designs after the 2024-25 season has concluded.

Lil Huskies

We are excited to expand our Lil Huskies program to include 25 ice-touches per session! Weekday skills sessions will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays for 40 minutes each. Saturday is game day, and the Lil Huskies will play cross-ice games for 70 minutes to take the skills they learned during the week and build their teamwork in game situations

The first skate of each session will act as a team evaluation and recommendation by the Director of Early Development.

We understand that hockey is not inexpensive, and we do everything in our power to provide opportunities for families to reduce their fees through fundraising, volunteerism, and sponsorship.
