Since 1969, the Huskies Hockey Club has been committed to growing and developing youth hockey in the Chicago area and bringing the game of hockey to as many children as possible. As a non-profit organization, our mission is to offer a progression of youth programs that satisfy every level of hockey skill and interest.
Player Development
Every player who joins our club will be provided with the opportunity to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. Our mission is to teach kids how to succeed on the ice, and then take those core principles of leadership, teamwork, effort, and attitude and apply them in every aspect of their lives.
HISTORY
The Huskies Hockey Club originally started playing out of the Elmhurst YMCA outdoor ice rink in 1969. Some of our club's earliest members were former NHL players Tony Granato and Brett Hull. After winning 34 State Championships in three different west suburban towns, the Huskies found a home in Romeoville.
HOCKEY DIRECTOR AND COACHES
It is no secret that coaching is the most important factor in creating a great hockey experience. Our hockey director, Chad Green, has built a coaching staff focused on helping players push themselves to reach their potential in every aspect of the game.
Board of Directors
Our board of directors is a passionate group that makes decisions in the best interest of the club and its members. If you have any issues or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to someone.
The Huskies Experience
While we all focus most of our attention on what happens on the ice, we know that the complete experience of being a member of the Huskies Hockey Club is much more than that. Hockey helps kids learn teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, camaraderie, how to win (and lose) gracefully, and how to push themselves so they can achieve things beyond their wildest dreams.
Facility
Our home rink, Canlan Ice Sports in Romeoville, is located 25 minutes from almost anywhere in the western or southern suburbs of Chicago.
Alumni
Our goal as an organization is to create an environment where players can grow, develop, and achieve their dreams. We are proud of all the former Huskies hockey players who have made their way through our organization.
